Begin to study acupuncture through the medium of Tui Na which is used in the practical context from the start. Tui Na & Acupuncture share the same traditional Chinese medical (TCM) theory. This is taught progressively throughout the modules.

Module 1 – Acupuncture course – TCM theory content

This module provides a thorough and comprehensive coverage of the basic principles of TCM.  It gives a sound basis for the practice of Tui Na as well as an introduction to theory of Module 2 – Clinical Acupuncture.

Module 1   Acupuncture course – practical content

All the practical content of this module is Tui Na Chinese Medical Massage.  It is the essential hands on therapy to accompany acupuncture.  It is the most effective way of developing the palpation skills to determine the sites of malfunction. Every acupuncturist needs these palpation skills but frequently lacks them.

“You will have immeasurable self confidence after completing the course, which all my degree friends have since commented on, and found surprising. ”   Read more…     Carol Aspinall

” When it came to learning acupuncture I could have opted to study to degree level. However I was clear that what I wanted was to learn to do acupuncture, and do it effectively, not to talk, write or theorise about it as an academic subject. So I studied here. Maria’s course surpassed my expectations.”  Read more…..   Stephen Johnston

Module 2 – Acupuncture Course

This module is 22 days.  Our Acupuncture training covers all relevant TCM theory in the mornings and extensive supervised clinical practice every afternoon.

Our Acupuncture students have to do lots of private study and case studies.  Maria considers this essential to achieve the standards required for safe and effective practice. Case studies that are carried out with Maria’s unique protocols give students confidence. These protocols give unparalleled ability to diagnose and treat a huge variety of conditions with stunning success. Maria personally checks all case studies and provides detailed feedback to students. These student case studies provide students with a potential clientele even before they are qualified.

Acupuncture is a practical skill that needs lots of practical experience

Student needling GB 20 on the acupuncture course 2017

Our acupuncture course gives you the opportunity to practice needling each major acu-point, accurately and deeply. Students experience first hand the uniquely different effects and sensations that needling produces.
After diagnosis, you will practice the most effective acupuncture point combinations both in class under strict supervision and in your out-of-class case studies. They help you build up mega confidence in treating all kinds of conditions both musculo-skeletal and internal.
By the time you take your exams, you are experienced enough to work as an acupuncturist.
Most of degree courses do not give you this hands-on training. They tend to teach basic TCM theory as an academic exercise. Practical clinical experience only comes in much later in the acupuncture course. However long the course, understanding the complexities of TCM takes a lifetime of study.” Read Grace Li’s testimonial

“Being a medical doctor, I had my reservations about how I would cope with this new system of treatment. But hats off to Maria she made it so simple & easy to learn. You can blend acupuncture with western medicine because we do not have treatment option for everything in Western medicine plus there are horrifying side effects in medicine “

If I do this acupuncture course, will it be recognised if and when regulation takes place?

Students who have gained a Bodyharmonics acupuncture diploma can have membership & insurance from Acupuncture-Acutherapy Council  AcuC which is a voluntary regulatory body with a rigid code of safe and effective practice.

At present, there is no government legislation in the UK covering Acupuncture.

Qualified members of Acupuncture-Acutherapy Council – a voluntary regulatory body will be automatically transferred to the statutory acupuncture register if and when it is established through “Grandparenting” which means that existing qualified acupuncturists would not be affected.
Grandparenting

“Grandparenting” was used for both Osteopaths and Chiropractors when statutory regulation was introduced for their professions.
